6th Grade Fees & Supplies
For the 2024-25 school year there is an art fee of $30. This is a one-time fee that covers a personal spiral bound, 100-page sketchbook for your child to use for assignments in class. It will also help with purchasing consumable supplies used during the year such as paper, paint, pastels, markers, colored pencils, metal, clay, etc. The $30 fee is required, however, no one will be turned away due to money; please let me know if you are unable to pay by sending an email to [email protected].
I've included instructions for paying via the webstore below in blue. If you prefer, you may send in cash or check (made payable to BCI Art) with your student. If sending cash, please put it in an envelope with your student's name on it.
Instructions for paying via the KISD Webstore:

To purchase items for your student, there are two ways you may log in and complete the payment process. Please note: If you create a guest user login account for yourself, you will not be able to access items specific to students as they are restricted to one of the two student account login methods below (this is to help keep students from purchasing items for the wrong school by mistake). Guest account users can only see items opened up to the general public to purchase, like Natatorium swim classes, donations or spirit wear.
1. The username = the student's ID number and the password = the student's last name (in upper and lower case letters). Once logged in, click on your student's name, then in the search bar at the top, type what you are searching for and click on search. This will take you straight to the item(s) so you may select buy next to the one you need to pay for.
2. If you need to create a family login account to make purchases for multiple students at the same time, under where it says 1st time users at the top, click where it says so you may set your password. Once you click the link, it will ask for an email address - this is your Aeries Parent Portal parent email address. Once you enter your parent email address used for Aeries, you will receive a link to that email to set your password. The password you set is only for the KISD Web Store and does not change anything with your Aeries Parent Portal login credentials at all. Once logged in, you will select which student you need to make a purchase for and then you can search for the item(s) using the search bar at the top.

Grading
6th Grade students will receive traditional letter grades in art this year. Students and parents are encouraged to check grades in Aeries throughout the grading period.
Grading will be based on class participation (use of time, participation & clean up), sketchbook grades, and projects. Projects are graded with the use of a rubric, addressing specific objectives relating to each project. Click HERE to see a sample grading rubric.
